Considered one of the most versatile entertainers to come out of Hawaii, Joseph Soul has been commanding crowds for well over two decades. Highly touted as a nightclub DJ, his expertise span more than the distance between two turntables. As his alias, DJ Audissey, he was highly sought after as a nightclub DJ in Hawai`i, with victories in Mai Tai Bar and 7-11 / Dave & Busters DJ Battles in 2010. A short stint in Las Vegas, where he was a nightclub DJ at venues such as Tryst and VooDoo Lounge, helped him realize that his true passion is singing, he moved back to Hawai’i to focus on honing that craft.
In 2014, he moved to Southern California with his now-fiancee while they both pursued their individual dreams. This is where he was really able to evolve into the Hawaiian Soul Singer (credit Bobby Ross Avila for that one). As a regular at venues such as Skyloft, & Mozambique, in Laguna Beach, he was able to truly develop into the hybrid DJ / singer he’s known as today. The multi-instrumentalist moved back to Hawai’i in October of 2019 where it seemed to have worked securing residencies at venues like The Moani Bistro & Bar and Mai Tais.
Then there was 2020. Everything was shut down but amidst a global pandemic, Joseph received the opportunity of a lifetime, a chance to audition for season 19 of NBC’s hit TV show, The Voice. By the end of his rendition of Is This Love, a Bob Marley classic sung in the style of Corrine Bailey Rae, Kelly Clarkson and Blake Shelton had both pressed their buttons with Joseph choosing the former as his coach. After losing his battle to the amazing DeSz, Joseph was then stolen by Gwen Stefani, eventually making it all the way to the live quarter-final show where he sang PJ Morton & Yebba’s version of, How Deep Is Your Love, live on NBC.
Joseph relocated to Las Vegas in 2022 and can be seen performing live all over the Vegas Strip.
